About
FreeBookery is an upcoming nonprofit that will offer free e-books to anyone, anywhere, while compensating authors.
We operate without a profit incentive, so the majority of money will go directly to authors/publishers. Only a small portion will be used to maintain our services. This makes our system extremely cost-effective.
Additionally, offering free e-books in this way renders e-book piracy redundant. Piracy statistics have spiked in recent years, particularly impacting independent authors. By financially supporting authors in being able to make their content freely available, we aim to make material more accessible to readers globally.
We aim to make this system sustainable long-term by allowing a specific number of “reads” on the site based on available funds, so donations and sponsorships have a direct impact in making reading available to everyone.
